White sage (Salvia apiana) and palo santo (Bursera graveolens) have been used together in purification rituals for centuries. Sage helps release stuck and negative energy, while palo santo supports the restoration of calm, clarity, and positive intention. Together, they create a ritual with a natural flow: first cleanse, then soften and reorient.

What is in the starter set?

This set contains a careful selection of two essential smudge elements:

• 3 bundles of white sage (Salvia apiana)
• 4 pieces of palo santo (Bursera graveolens)

Both the sage and the palo santo are 100% naturally and organically grown. The palo santo originates from Peru and is harvested exclusively from naturally fallen wood — no trees are felled for it.

This is how you use white sage

Light the end of a bundle of sage until a flame appears. Let it burn for a few seconds and gently blow out the flame so that the bundle begins to glow and give off smoke.

Always open a window so that the smoke can circulate and does not linger. Place the bundle in a fireproof dish.

This is how you use palo santo

Use palo santo after the sage has gone out. Carefully light the stick until a flame appears, gently blow it out, and let the wood smolder. Move calmly through the space you wish to cleanse and remain focused on your positive intention. The warm, woody scent creates a calming and sustained atmosphere.

Sustainable and safe use

• The bundles and sticks are approximately 10 cm and can be used multiple times.
• Preferably light the entire bundle of sage: this way the core burns more slowly and lasts longer.
• Palo santo only needs to burn briefly to produce sufficient smoke.
• Never extinguish with water (unless in an emergency) to avoid mold formation.
• Always check if everything is completely extinguished.
